The Gowanus Canal Conservancy will be hosting the first annual
“Gowanus a Go Go” benefit concert. Gowanus a Go Go will feature some
of the best bands of the New York City music scene, bringing them
together to play at The Bell House in the Gowanus Canal district.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Gowanus Canal
Conservancy, a non-profit organization founded in 2006, dedicated to
the preservation, restoration and smart growth of the Gowanus Canal
and its environs for the greater good of the community, to continue
their ongoing work on the Canal and the greater Gowanus neighborhood.
About the Gowanus Canal
The 1.8 mile long Gowanus Canal was created in the mid-late 1800s on
the site of a former saltmarsh and creek and has seen its fair share
of environmental issues. For years, it has captured raw sewage waste
from adjacent residential neighborhoods, industrial waste products
from the businesses located along its banks, and polluted surface run
off. At the same time, the canal is dotted with structures and
bridges that celebrate its important industrial history and is home to
egrets, cormorans, and other forms of wildlife. Currently, the area
is filled with small industries, businesses, homes and artists’
studios and is slated for rezoning by the City as well as being
considered for potential Superfund status.

this is a spooky demo from a forthcoming E.P. featuring the enemies of Superspirit. the villains are fascinated with the macabre, and seek to squash superspirit’s spirit, which cannot be done, try they may. the kids think that it sounds like wood elves.

A medley of citrus fruits, vegetables and spices “cooks” the seafood to a lightly tart and savory perfection! We’re serving up a Royal ceviche for the pescatarian in you, and our version of a mushroom ceviche for the vegetarians and vegans out there.
