At the glorious end of the glorious summer, we find a few things have happened in the Superspirit camp.

1. We have overseen the musical direction for an awesome festival (The Wassaic Project). The feeling in the air was electric, the art was amazing, the weather was gift from the gods, and the music was perfect.

This one treated me well down on the mellow playas of Puerto Rico, especially after i broke a toe windsurfing and was sidelined to the pool on painkillers

This mix is good for sunbathing, flying airplanes, and general daydreaming.

Hi all, we are hard at work in family studio, getting our sophomore effort finished and in the can. we are really proud of this new one, and it features some amazing new (family) musicians. stay tuned.

also Spiritbear is also completing a solo album, that will be a little harder hitting. dad’s got to stay tough too, adhering to the code of the streets. horror disco, space ragga, electro bumps make up a sound track that elevates the sound of now, through the filter of vintage psychedelia, and home-recording weirdness.

at work too, a Superspirit ambient ep that is perfect for your consciousness retreats. like Reich meets the Orb.

The Gowanus Canal Conservancy will be hosting the first annual
“Gowanus a Go Go” benefit concert. Gowanus a Go Go will feature some
of the best bands of the New York City music scene, bringing them
together to play at The Bell House in the Gowanus Canal district.

All proceeds from the concert will go to the Gowanus Canal
Conservancy, a non-profit organization founded in 2006, dedicated to
the preservation, restoration and smart growth of the Gowanus Canal
and its environs for the greater good of the community, to continue
their ongoing work on the Canal and the greater Gowanus neighborhood.

About the Gowanus Canal
The 1.8 mile long Gowanus Canal was created in the mid-late 1800s on
the site of a former saltmarsh and creek and has seen its fair share
of environmental issues. For years, it has captured raw sewage waste
from adjacent residential neighborhoods, industrial waste products
from the businesses located along its banks, and polluted surface run
off.  At the same time, the canal is dotted with structures and
bridges that celebrate its important industrial history and is home to
egrets, cormorans, and other forms of wildlife.  Currently, the area
is filled with small industries, businesses, homes and artists’
studios and is slated for rezoning by the City as well as being
considered for potential Superfund status.

Please come down to shop, drink a nog with us, and to hear holiday weirdness, psychedelic folk, and space rock heaviness.

this is a spooky demo from a forthcoming E.P. featuring the enemies of Superspirit. the villains are fascinated with the macabre, and seek to squash superspirit’s spirit, which cannot be done, try they may.  the kids think that it sounds like wood elves.
